In my view, (a) privilege is a rule of evidence of such importance to the proper function of our judicial and quasi-judicial systems and (b) considering that the final decision that holds that no privilege applies (or has been waived) causes an irreversible loss of a potential right, I just can't see it being subject to a reasonableness standard of review.
